Ray's Spelling and Word Games is an educational program for kids that will teach them to spell words properly and broaden their vocabulary. The game is divided into three sections, each one focusing on a different aspect of language.

The program allows you to create several profiles, 40 in total, each with a personalized list of words, letting you arrange the words with various difficulty levels for kids according to their age.

The games are: Spelling, Find the word, and Word jumble. They are pretty simple, easy to learn, and some surely familiar to most kids. The interface is quite straightforward, with nice characters and kids voices, and it displays happy faces when kids enter a correct word.

In Spelling, for example, a cat will speak a word aloud, and kids have to type it in correctly. This game has three levels of difficulty and gives kids the chance of listening to a word several times, or, in the easiest level, even preview the word so as to memorize its spelling, allowing them to learn at their own pace. You can add words or even short phrases to a user profile and record them with a microphone. Find the Word, on the other hand is a game that uses the hangman concept, but with balloons rather than a human figure. And in Word Jumble, kids will have to rearrange the word given by clicking on the correct letters.

The Spelling section includes even more features, like the chance of downloading spelling lists from the game's official site, or revising spelling rules and common misspelled words, which are available in the full version of the program.
